BIO
Karl
Spooner was born in Oriskany Falls, N.Y.
in 1931. His career in the Major Leagues
was short but notable. During his first
two games for the Brooklyn Dodgers (and
his first games in the Major Leagues),
Karl recorded two shut-outs, striking
out 27 batters.
The following
season, he started in his first World
Series game but only played for one-third
of an inning before he was removed due
to his poor performance. He never played
Major League Baseball again.
