Quick Bio

Ed Furgol grew up in the Utica area with early dreams of playing golf. At age 12, a playground accident left him with a crippled left arm. Despite the injury, Furgol continued to pursue golf through the pain of stretching, working as a caddie and swinging with the arm.

Furgol worked hard to reach the PGA, and in 1954 he won the U.S. Open over the likes of Ben Hogan.
