Owen D. Young was a
farm boy who was born in Van Hornesville,
NY in 1874. After completing law school
at Boston University he joined a Boston
Law Office. His work at the law office
gained him the attention of the first
General Electric president, Charles Coffin.
Coffin recruited Owen
as the "Company's Chief Counsel and
Vice President in Charge of Policy."
Young eventually became Chairman of the
Board for General Electric.
