Quick BIO

George Eastman's family moved from Waterville to Rochester when he was five. He was a young man of 24 when he took a trip to Santo Domingo with some photography equipment of the time. His experience with the equipment led him to begin his quest to simplify the process.

Eastman started a dry plate company in Rochester which evolved into the hugely successful Kodak. Key to his success was the development of and promotion of home use camera technology.
