BIO
Ron O'Neal was born in Utica,
NY in 1937. He grew up in Cleveland, the
son of a jazz musician.
As a young man, O'Neal was
involved with an experimental theater
troupe. He made a dramatic jump from stage
performance to film with a lead role in
the "blaxploitation" movie
Superfly, in which he played
a drug-dealing priest. Following his success
in Superfly, O'Neal directed and
starred in the sequel, Superfly TNT.
O'Neal has appeared in
many movies including Red Dawn,
A Force of One, North and South
and Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter.
Television appearances include such shows
as "A Different World," "Hill
Street Blues" and "Knight Rider."
In 2000, O'Neal was featured
on E! Television's "The E! True Hollywood
Story."
