Quick BIO

Out of high school, Dick Clark (born Richard Clay) got a job at WRUN-AM in Rome, NY as an office boy. Before long he was working for WRUN's new FM station in Utica, moving up to the rank of weatherman. After attending Syracuse University to study advertising with a minor in broadcasting, he landed a job as a newscaster at WKTV in Utica.

Clark's career progressed and he became the host of "American Bandstand." The show was the longest running music-themed show on television.

Clark has been involved with many high-profile projects, but he may be best known for his "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve" television celebration.
