Catherine Kurtelawcz

Cat Kurtelawicz joined the Observer-Dispatch in February.

She is a Utica native and a 2003 Thomas R. Proctor High School grad. She went on to graduate from Ithaca College in December 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. While at college, Cat took a photojournalism course which sparked her interest in photography.

Cat started as the Pennysaver reporter, writing stories and taking photos for six different editions including Utica, New Hartford, Whitestown, North Country, Herkimer and Farm & Home.

She now covers Herkimer County as a mobile journalist for the Observer-Dispatch.
