K-rock wants to hear from you

Hey all. I just spoke with Nixon over at K-Rock, and he gave me some pretty cool news.

Two Utica-area guys have been chosen as finalists for the station's "Make a K-Rockathon" commercial. Aaron Singleton, of Whitesboro, and Matt Peters, of Frankfort, are the chosen ones. One of them will win $1,000 and on-stage seats at K-Rockathon Aug. 8, at the New York State Fairgrounds. (Tickets are $37 and on sale now.)

Here's the deal, K-Rock wants your help. Leave your comments about which video is your favorite. They'll take what you have to say into consideration when making their final decision.

If you go to Syracuse.com (http://blog.syracuse.com/listenup/2009/07/krock_officials_want_to_read_y.html) There are 2 other Syracuse finalists there with what I think our better videos.

Dude, those videos suck! I would not come to Krockathon after seeing those on tv! Personally I prefer Jim Gravina's video from Liverpool.

The problem with a lot of the so-called 'good' videos was that they broke the contest rules regarding the use of copyright materials (music and videos). That being said, the 2 finalists did good because they didn't just blatantly steal from MTV. The one is pretty funny but the other one gives all the concert info and details more clearly... and would be my vote for winner.

Hey guys..

The competition for Syracause and Utica are separate , feel free to go and look m but that does NOT effect the outcome here :)

The first one by Aaron was good, but just in your face with too much info and got boring fast. The 2nd one grabs your attention much faster and has more of a feeling to it. I like them both but leaning more towards the 2nd one by Matt more entertain. Are they going to be shown on tv at all?

Both are pretty good, each have a differnt stlye. the first one is more info drivien, and the second is more creative. My taste is the creative one but i can see it going both ways. But i think by now most people gotten there tickets, i don't see them making people going to get it. But i can see people enjoying the second one more. Just my thoughts.

I vote for Matt's. Sure, it's weird and quirky, but if it came on the TV I certainly wouldn't change the channel. I'd want to find out what the ad is for. Those are what the best ads do!
