A.L. East race just getting started
Tampa Bay has the lead in the A.L. East.
But they're not the favorites. Maybe not even for second place.
The World Champion Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees have been in this position too many times to have anyone else in the division be the favorite to pull away after the All-Star Game.
So, come mid-September, expect the Rays to be fighting for nothing more than the wild card.

I am a firm believer that Red Sox fans are the most arrogant, but Yankee fans are a close second. I'm hoping the lovable Rays win it all with their $40 Millon payroll so Hank will know how many hundreds of millions he's wasting.
GO RAYS!
Wow, Nick. You're really going out on a limb there. The team with a payroll $150 less than two other teams (one of whom is the defending champs) in its division is NOT the favorite to win it, really? I suppose next you'll tell me that the Marlins are not the favorites to win the NL East.
