Delaney: Federer, Williams too good for antics

I love tennis. I find it very relaxing to watch.

There was anything but relaxation during two high-profile matches at the U.S. Open.

Serena Williams' behavior last weekend is well-covered territory. Roger Federer didn't behave much better in a smart-alecky exchange with an official during Monday's men's final.

I understand heat of the moment. I don't understand a lack of professionalism. Would Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Bjorn Borg or Pete Sampras have acted that way? No.

Federer is an amazing talent, smooth and graceful, beautiful on the court. The best. Williams, too, is in a different class - a female with incredible power and strength.

Both are too good to behave as they did. Even in the heat of the match.
