Hoffman exchanging bats for sticks

 

Whitesboro senior shortstop Lauren Hoffman is the 2008 All Mohawk Valley Softball Player of the Year, but the game isn’t necessarily in her future.

The 18-year-old Hoffman is going to Union College to play ice hockey for the Division I Dutchwomen. She’s played hockey since she was four years old and played for the Syracuse Stars for the last four years. Given the time commitment of college and playing college hockey, Hoffman doesn’t have plans to play softball.
